The river is calm and sheltered, making it accessible for beginners and younger paddlers from around four years of age. Birdlife along the waterway is a consistent highlight, and the self-guided format allows families to set their own pace with stops for photos and breaks along the way.

KIOA also runs team-style outdoor challenges suited to school groups, corporate retreats, and larger family gatherings. These structured activities add a collaborative element to the day and can be paired with riding or kayaking.
